Kullaru Training and Assessing driving courses ensure you have the skills and knowledge to operate light vehicles and 4x4's around a mine site and other industrial facilities while improving your driving on public roads.
This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to operate a four wheel drive vehicle safely in a range of conditions. These include driving a four wheel drive vehicle on normal roads, traversing slopes, ascending and descending steep slopes and stall recovery. It also includes operation of the vehicle in rugged terrain, the use of a jack and the completion of all pre- and post-operational checks. Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements may be applicable to this unit. Provisional car licence must be held prior to the commencement of this unit of competency for driving on public land/roads.

It includes the monitoring of traffic and associated equipment and, management of vehicle condition, and performance and effective management of hazardous situations. Licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements are applicable to this unit. Provisional car licence must be held prior to commencement of this unit of competency.
This unit covers a participant’s skills and knowledge required to operate a light vehicle. It includes: Plan and prepare for light vehicle operations, operate a light vehicle; carry out operator maintenance.
This unit covers a participant’s skills and knowledge required to operate and maintain a 4WD. It includes: Identify four-wheel drive specific terms, terminology and techniques; plan for minimal environmental impact; perform pre-departure checks; use 4WD mode; use a single snatch strap to recover a vehicle; perform maintenance and minor repairs on four-wheel drive vehicles.
