Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Kullaru offer RPL to help you towards your qualification. RPL is a process for giving candidates credit for skills, knowledge and experience gained through working and learning. It can be gained at any stage of your life through formal and informal learning in Australia or overseas, through work or other activities such as volunteering.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Please note that from the 1 January 2015 as per the initiative by the Australian Government Department of Industry, it will be a compulsory legal requirement for all VET students who undertake nationally recognised training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

The USI is a randomly-generated alpha-numeric code allocated at no cost to an individual student who enters the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. Once allocated the USI will stay with the student for life and be used to record any nationally recognised VET training undertaken by the student.

In effect, as of 1 January 2015 RTO’s will not be permitted to issue certificates to students who do not hold a USI.

Therefore, we recommend that all students apply for their USI prior to enrolling in training from 1 January 2015. We can offer assistance in creating your USI during the enrolment process, however this will cause delays.

The process for creating a student USI takes about 5 minutes, and can be done online using the link below:
